Back stage! / 30 hours of service learning
For my 30 hours of service learning I worked back stage on the school play. Kether did a school play last year of a remix of Petter pan and instead of being in the play i decided to do all the back stage work and getting all of the play clothes and props ready and getting all of the different sense put together and being a back up if someone could have made it or could do the job right i guess i can see it that way. All together i probably did about 100 hours of that but out side of school hours i worked on the play for 50 hours. The day before the play and the day of the play we spend a good 20 hours of that 50 in just those to days.
Another thing i did of my service learning hours was when we went to California. On the California trip we went over to the homeless shelter and we spent about 2 maybe three hours there. Not only did we give back to the people but i also met a lot of great, and hopeful people. it didn't matter the fact of where they were at they all had a smile on their faces and so happy to have us there with them. To be a part of that was so great and made me really think of what people go through and how i should look at people in a different light,.
The last thing i did for service learning hours was going to the thrift store. Rick took a few students from one of his classes to go and help unload clothes and hang them up. Putting stuff on the floor and moving stuff around and clean and just making sure everything looks nice and that the floors are cleaned off so its safe for the guesses to be safe and not fall.
